Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has strongly condemned a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) falsely claiming that the Waqf Board has staked a claim to Mumbai’s iconic Siddhivinayak Temple. The controversial post, shared by a user named Mr. Sinha, included an image of the temple along with a photo of Lord Ganpati, captioned with incendiary language calling for action.
Thackeray took to X to denounce the claim, describing it as a deliberate attempt to spread hate and communal tension. He criticized the BJP’s ecosystem, accusing them of using divisive tactics for political gain.
“The absolutely disgusting mentality of the BJP’s ecosystem. Divide and rule. Lie and try to win. Will the Election Commission of India and Mumbai Police ever act and arrest such disgusting hate creators and Maharashtra haters? Don’t play with our sentiments and emotions in Maharashtra for your votes,” Thackeray wrote.
The Sena UBT leader tagged the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Mumbai Police in his post, demanding strict action against the user and others spreading such misinformation.
High-Stakes Election Battle in Worli
Aaditya Thackeray is contesting for a second term from the Worli constituency in South Mumbai in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. This high-profile seat has become a triangular battleground, with Thackeray facing challenges from former MP and Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora and MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande.
Maharashtra’s 288-member Assembly will go to the polls on November 20, with the results set to be declared on November 23. As the election approaches, tensions are high, with leaders like Thackeray calling for unity and action against communal misinformation.
