In a dramatic turn of events, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating a plot to endanger the life of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by denying him adequate medical care while in jail. The allegations were made by AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi at a media conference.
Atishi claimed that BJP-led state governments, unable to rival the welfare initiatives championed by Kejriwal, have resorted to implicating him in false cases and imprisoning him. “This is not just a conspiracy to put Arvind Kejriwal behind bars but also to target his health. It is a conspiracy to kill Arvind Kejriwal,” she asserted.
She further emphasized that this tactic of targeting political opponents’ health is not unprecedented. “It is not happening for the first time that a dictator puts his rivals behind bars to worsen their health and kill them,” Atishi remarked.
According to Atishi, Kejriwal, who has been managing diabetes for 30 years, was initially denied insulin and access to a doctor by the BJP-led Central government, requiring court intervention to address the issue. “The BJP will be held responsible if anything happens to Kejriwal,” she warned.

Atishi explained that immediately after Kejriwal secured bail from a trial court in the ED case, the BJP approached the Delhi High Court to revoke his bail, leading to his subsequent arrest by the CBI. She claimed that during his incarceration, Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels have dangerously fluctuated, resulting in significant health risks. “His sugar level has dipped significantly and frequently… his weight has reduced by 8.5 kg,” Atishi disclosed.
Two doctors present at the press conference elaborated on the severe risks associated with hypoglycemia, a condition where blood sugar levels drop to dangerously low levels, potentially leading to a coma. They stressed the critical need for improved medical care for Kejriwal to prevent such life-threatening situations.
The allegations have sparked a significant political controversy, raising concerns about the treatment of political leaders in custody and the potential misuse of power for political gain. As the situation unfolds, the AAP continues to demand better medical attention for Kejriwal and accountability from the BJP for any harm that may come to the Delhi Chief Minister.
