Exit polls have painted a picture of a resounding victory for the BJP and the NDA, forecasting over 350 Lok Sabha seats for the alliance. However, AAP’s Somnath Bharti, the MLA and candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat under the INDIA alliance, vehemently opposes these predictions.
Bharti boldly declared that all exit polls would be proven wrong come Tuesday, the day of the vote count. He even went as far as to pledge to shave his head if Narendra Modi secures a third term as Prime Minister.
Despite most exit polls favoring the BJP to win at least six of Delhi’s seven seats, mirroring its 2019 performance, Bharti remains steadfast in his conviction. He insists that it’s the INDIA alliance, comprising the AAP contesting four seats and the Congress three, that will sweep Delhi, clinching victory in all seven constituencies.
“I will shave off my head if Mr. Modi becomes PM for the third time. Mark my word! All exit polls will be proven wrong on 4th June, and Modi ji will not become prime minister for the third time. In Delhi, all seven seats will go to India ALLIANCE,” Bharti asserted on social media platform X.
Bharti, running against Bansuri Swaraj of the BJP in the New Delhi constituency, emphasized the need to wait for the actual results, slated for June 4th. He urged people to remain patient, suggesting that the fear of Modi could be influencing the exit polls’ predictions.
“Fear of Mr. Modi does not allow exit polls to show him loose (sic). Hence we all need to wait for actual results scheduled to be delivered on June 4th. People have voted very heavily against @BJP4India,” Bharti concluded.
