After Delhi Talks, NDA Allies To Seek Prez Nod For Modi Sarkar

The NDA has over 272 seats required for majority in the 543-seat Lok Sabha. But BJP's 240 seats alone are not enough, so it needs allies' support.

Top leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) met in Delhi today. They discussed forming the new government after winning the recent Lok Sabha elections.

The NDA won enough seats to form the government again, with Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for a third time.

After the meeting, the NDA leaders plan to meet President Droupadi Murmu later today. They will ask her to allow them to form the new government under Modi’s leadership.

The important meeting was led by Modi himself. Leaders from NDA allies like TDP, JD(U), Shiv Sena and others attended. Senior BJP leaders were also there.

JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar and others thanked voters for giving the NDA another chance to rule. They said Modi will be the next Prime Minister soon.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said, “Modi has a majority. The NDA government will be formed under Modi’s leadership.”

Though no date was announced, some NDA members feel the new government may take oath over this weekend if all details are finalized quickly.

Allies like TDP and JD(U) are expected to demand top ministries like finance, transport etc. Their support is crucial as BJP fell short of majority on its own this time.
