Ajitbhai Ishvarbhai Patel was born around 1974–1975 and is the son of Ishvarbhai Patel. He completed his education up to the 8th standard at High School, Rander, Surat, in 1989. He is involved full-time in politics and declared no professional occupation apart from his political work.

Political Career

Ajitbhai Patel entered local governance through the Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected as a corporator in the Surat Municipal Corporation in 2021 from Ward No. 1. Since taking office, he has been an active part of multiple municipal committees including those dealing with:

1. Solid Waste Management

2. Health and Hospital Oversight (including SMIMER Hospital)

3. Vector-Borne Disease Control

4. Birth and Death Registrations

5. Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)

Controversy

In November 2023, Divyesh Patel—son of Corporator Ajitbhai Ishvarbhai Patel—was detained by Surat police after allegedly firing a licensed revolver into the air to threaten a labour contractor and his workers during a dispute. The incident occurred in Bhesan, Surat, and stemmed from an argument over contractor supervision. No injuries were reported, but a case under Sections 307, 323, 294(b) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant Arms Act charges and provisions of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, was filed by the police.
