Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday reacted to the Delhi Assembly election results, as trends from the Election Commission indicated a comfortable win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah said that the people of Delhi have rejected false promises and misgovernance.

“Delhiites have shown that the public cannot be misled by repeated false promises. The people have responded to the dirty Yamuna, poor drinking water quality, broken roads, overflowing sewers, and liquor shops in every street with their votes,” Shah wrote.

He also congratulated BJP National President JP Nadda and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva for the party’s remarkable performance, acknowledging the hard work of party workers. “I heartily congratulate all the workers of Delhi BJP who worked day and night for this grand victory. BJP National President JP Nadda and state president Virendra Sachdeva deserve immense credit,” he added.

Shah further asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Delhi will now become an ideal capital. “Be it the respect for women, the self-respect of unauthorized colony residents, or the immense possibilities of self-employment, Delhi will now transform under PM Modi’s leadership,” he stated.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also celebrated BJP’s massive win, calling it a victory for development and good governance. “This is the people’s stamp of approval for PM Modi’s leadership. With the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,’ we are moving forward on the highway of development,” Gadkari remarked.
