Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah, on Monday, launched a fierce attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, vowing to open his extravagant residence, dubbed ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ for public viewing. Addressing a rally in the Jangpura assembly constituency, Shah accused Kejriwal of constructing a lavish bungalow at the taxpayers’ expense, despite previously claiming he would not accept government perks.

“In 2013, Kejriwal said he wouldn’t take a house, a car, or security. But not only did he take these benefits, he was not satisfied with one house, so he built ‘Sheesh Mahal’ with Rs 51,000 crore. This money belongs to the people of Delhi. I promise that we will open this mansion for public viewing,” Shah declared at the rally.

The BJP leader also targeted AAP leader Manish Sisodia, the party’s candidate from Jangpura, questioning his decision to leave Patparganj, the constituency he previously represented. “Manish Sisodia has now come to Jangpura. Ask him why he had to leave Patparganj? He thinks he can fool people here after deceiving the people of his former constituency,” said Shah.

Attacking AAP’s liquor policy, Shah alleged that Sisodia, during his tenure as Deputy CM, facilitated the opening of liquor shops near temples, schools, and gurudwaras. “He is the only education minister in the country who went to jail in a liquor scam,” he added.

Taking a jibe at both Kejriwal and Sisodia, Shah said, “The ‘Bade Miyan’ and ‘Chote Miyan’ have betrayed Delhi.”
