Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, countering allegations that the Modi government had been unfair to the state. Addressing a public gathering, Shah challenged Stalin to answer in front of the people of Tamil Nadu.
“Tamil Nadu CM always says that the Modi government has done injustice to the state. I am here to tell him—if you are truthful, reply to what I am asking in front of the people of the state,” Shah said.

Highlighting financial allocations, he compared the funds granted to Tamil Nadu under the UPA and BJP regimes. “The UPA government from 2004 to 2014 gave ₹1,52,901 crores in the form of grant-in-aid and devolution, whereas the Modi government has given ₹5,08,337 crores in 10 years. In addition, the Modi government also provided ₹1,43,000 crore for infrastructure development,” Shah asserted.
The statement comes amid an ongoing political tussle between the BJP-led Centre and the DMK government in Tamil Nadu, with Stalin frequently accusing the Modi government of neglecting the state’s interests.
