In a significant move ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal filed his nomination papers on Wednesday for the New Delhi Assembly seat. Addressing supporters and party workers, Kejriwal urged Delhi residents to vote for the party’s work in education, healthcare, jobs, and infrastructure development.

“I have filed my nomination today, and I appeal to the people of Delhi to vote for the hard work that AAP has put in,” Kejriwal said, emphasizing his party’s achievements in various sectors. “On one side, there’s a party that works, and on the other side, there’s a party that indulges in abuse. Vote for jobs, education, health, water, and roads,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal, accompanied by his wife and party workers, marched to file his nomination. Prior to the nomination submission, he and his wife offered prayers at the historic Pracheen Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place. He also mentioned on social media that he sought blessings from both Valmiki Temple and Hanuman Temple before finalizing his nomination.

Kejriwal is set to face strong competition from Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Parvesh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit in the upcoming election. The contest for the New Delhi seat is expected to be one of the most closely watched in the city.
