Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, on Friday accused the BJP-led central government of failing to deliver on its promise of providing financial assistance to women in Delhi. She alleged that despite assurances from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders, the promised ₹2,500 was not credited to women's accounts by March 8, as pledged.
Atishi further claimed that when Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs raised the issue in the Assembly, they were forcibly evicted instead of receiving a response. "The BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the women of Delhi that by March 8, ₹2,500 will be credited to their accounts, but the BJP government of Delhi did not fulfill this promise. When we asked questions in the House about when ₹2,500 will be credited into the accounts of women, all our MLAs were thrown out of the House," she said.
