The second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections began on Tuesday morning with a steady flow of voters across 122 constituencies. By 9 a.m., the state had recorded an overall turnout of 14.55%, according to the Election Commission.

As per official data, Gaya district led the tally with 15.97%, followed closely by Kishanganj (15.81%) and Jamui (15.77%). On the other hand, Bhagalpur registered the lowest voter turnout at 13.43% in the initial hours of polling.

Voting began at 7 a.m. under tight security arrangements and will continue until 5 p.m. The Election Commission has deployed additional forces in sensitive constituencies to ensure smooth and peaceful polling.

This final phase will decide the political fate of 1,302 candidates, including several key ministers from the Nitish Kumar-led government. The results of this phase will play a decisive role in shaping the next state government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform X to urge citizens, especially first-time voters, to participate in large numbers.

“Today marks the second and final phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections. I urge all voters to participate enthusiastically and set a new voting record. I especially urge my young friends from the state, who are voting for the first time, to not only cast their votes themselves but also inspire others to do so,” the Prime Minister posted.
