In a high-profile political move, BJP leaders, including MP Anurag Thakur and Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva, released a “Charge Sheet” (Aarop Patra) on Monday, leveling serious accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. The charge sheet, presented during a press conference, accused the Arvind Kejriwal-led administration of widespread corruption, governance failures, and negligence in handling civic issues.
Tragic Flooding and Negligence Highlighted
Anurag Thakur criticized the AAP government for its alleged mismanagement, citing the recent deaths of three UPSC aspirants due to rain-induced flooding in Old Rajender Nagar. “The Delhi government promised to make the city a ‘City of Lakes,’ but instead, we witness young lives being lost due to their negligence,” Thakur stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Thakur accused the Kejriwal administration of failing to prioritize essential infrastructure improvements. “Their promises are nothing more than hollow words,” he added.
Corruption and Mismanagement Alleged
Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva further accused the AAP government of corruption and mismanagement, particularly in addressing the city’s drainage system. He highlighted how the failure to clean the drains led to severe flooding, posing risks to public safety.
“The AAP government has failed to clean the drains, leading to flooding and loss of lives. They only care about their own benefits,” Sachdeva said. He also alleged that the administration prioritizes personal interests over public welfare, leaving critical civic issues unaddressed.
Call for Accountability and Promises of Change
The BJP leaders demanded the resignation of key AAP officials, holding them responsible for the alleged failures. They also called for compensation for the families of those who lost their lives due to the flooding.
Urging citizens to hold the Kejriwal government accountable, the BJP leaders promised significant changes if given the mandate in the upcoming elections. “We stand committed to ensuring better governance and safeguarding the welfare of Delhi’s residents,” they stated.
