Following the Lok Sabha elections, various parties have begun analyzing their performances, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) particularly scrutinizing its results in Uttar Pradesh. Sources indicate that a detailed report on the reasons behind the BJP's poor showing in the state has been sent to the party headquarters. The BJP managed to secure only 33 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, a significant drop from the 63 seats it won in 2019.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) surged ahead, winning 37 seats and pushing the BJP to second place. The BJP's allies claimed 3 seats, the Congress secured 6, and Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan won one seat. In response to these disappointing results, the BJP has formed a task force to investigate the causes of its defeat. This task force will visit each Lok Sabha constituency and report its findings to the UP BJP President within a week.
Continuous deliberations on the party's losses have been taking place. Today, a meeting of party officials at the BJP office is scheduled to review the performances of defeated candidates in the Kanpur division. The primary focus will be on key constituencies, including Amethi, Rae Bareily, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Muzaffarnagar, Allahabad, and Saharanpur.
