As the upcoming assembly elections approach, political momentum in Maharashtra has surged, with all parties intensifying their activities. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been particularly active, conducting extensive tours across the state under the leadership of key party figures. Concurrently, internal party meetings have been ramping up to fine-tune strategies for the upcoming electoral battle.
Recently, the BJP’s core committee held a significant meeting to strategize for the legislative assembly elections. The meeting, chaired by Maharashtra BJP President Chandrasekhar Bawankule, was attended by senior leaders including Devendra Fadnavis, Bhupendra Yadav, and Vinod Tawde. The agenda focused on critical topics such as assembly election strategies, seat allocation, and the selection of constituencies.
Following the meeting, BJP leader Ashish Shelar provided insights into the discussions. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming district extended executive sessions, where party workers will engage in dialogues centered on the forthcoming elections. These sessions, to be held across 288 constituencies in the state, will involve grassroots workers at the mandal level, who will be responsible for initiating village-level schemes in preparation for the elections.
Shelar also highlighted that the process of seat allocation has already begun, with criteria and allotment strategies being finalized. The distribution of seats is expected to be completed shortly, after which detailed discussions on seat allocation will commence. The alliance leaders, including Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar, will play a pivotal role in outlining the next steps for the elections.
When asked about Mahadev Jankar’s seat demands, Shelar refrained from commenting, stating that the matter would be addressed by the senior leadership. He assured that Shinde, Fadnavis, and Pawar would engage in discussions with Jankar to resolve any issues.
The BJP’s focus has sharpened following the setbacks in the recent Lok Sabha elections. In response, the party has intensified its efforts to strengthen organizational structures and reconnect with its base. Party leaders have been directed to engage with veteran members, former officials, and grassroots workers to gauge sentiments and ensure their support.
As the election date draws closer, the BJP’s core committee continues to refine its strategies, aiming to secure a decisive victory in the assembly elections. The party’s comprehensive approach, from grassroots mobilization to strategic seat allocation, underscores its determination to emerge as the dominant force in Maharashtra’s political landscape.
