In a dramatic escalation of political tensions, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has organized a march targeting former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. This move comes in response to accusations Deshmukh made against the BJP last week, which led to a significant counterattack by the party.
The BJP’s women state president, Chitra Wagh, has challenged Deshmukh to substantiate his claims with concrete evidence. Wagh’s call for proof follows explosive allegations made by Sachin Vaze, a former Mumbai Police officer dismissed from his position. Vaze has alleged that Deshmukh was involved in financial misconduct, specifically claiming that Deshmukh was soliciting money through his personal assistant. Vaze has also volunteered for a narco test to substantiate his claims.
Wagh has further accused Deshmukh of attempting to solicit Rs 2 crore while suspended, purportedly to be given to Sharad Pawar. She has called for a comprehensive investigation into these allegations and stated that evidence has been submitted to the Home Ministry. A letter detailing these accusations has been sent to Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Wagh insists that the BJP demands a thorough investigation into the matter.
In a dramatic response, the BJP has launched a broadside against the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, which includes Deshmukh’s party, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The BJP claims that Sachin Vaze’s allegations have shattered Deshmukh’s credibility and demand that the truth be brought to light.
Deshmukh has vehemently denied these accusations, asserting that they are politically motivated. He has alleged that a person named Samit Kadam, reportedly sent by Devendra Fadnavis, was involved in orchestrating these claims against him. The back-and-forth between Deshmukh and the BJP has heightened the political drama.
Adding fuel to the fire, Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena, has shown support for Vaze, leading to further accusations from the BJP. The party has criticized Thackeray’s comments about Vaze, questioning if he meant to liken Vaze to a notorious figure and demanding that Thackeray address these allegations in his upcoming speech in Pune.
The BJP’s aggressive stance and ongoing revelations have set the stage for a heated political battle, with public scrutiny intensifying over the allegations and the parties involved. The coming days are expected to reveal more as the investigation unfolds and political leaders respond to these high-stakes accusations.
