BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has raised serious concerns regarding a birth certificate scam in Mumbai, Maharashtra, allegedly involving Bangladeshi nationals. Somaiya, while addressing the media, revealed alarming findings after investigating the case.
"I looked into the birth certificate scam in Mumbai, Maharashtra, in connection with Bangladeshis, and peculiar things came into light. In Malegaon, two dozen people are absconding with birth certificates. We are scared if they are connected to terrorist organizations," Somaiya stated.
The BJP leader also praised the state government’s response to the issue, noting that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had expedited action against those involved.
"I will be going to Delhi tomorrow to meet senior officials of the appropriate departments to take this matter further," Somaiya added.
The issue has raised questions about the potential misuse of forged documents, which could be linked to illegal activities or national security concerns. Authorities have yet to confirm any direct connection to terrorism, but the case has sparked heightened scrutiny in the region.
