During today’s Delhi Assembly session, BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, accusing them of disrespecting freedom fighters like Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Upadhyay criticized Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi for politicizing the issue surrounding the portrait of Bhagat Singh.

“The way AAP has used the portraits of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Baba Saheb Ambedkar for political gains is shameful,” Upadhyay remarked, adding, “In Malviya Nagar, a park dedicated to Bhagat Singh has a vandalized statue that has been left in this condition for the past 3 years. If Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, and their party genuinely respected these icons, they would have taken action to restore it.”

Upadhyay went on to announce that BJP had taken matters into their own hands, stating, “We’ve put a cloth cover on the statue and plan to either restore it or install a new one within the next month.”
