BJP MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal On Sisodia’s Bail: ‘He’s Out On Bail, Not Acquitted, Legal Consequences Still Possible’

Sigriwal’s remarks come at a time of significant political and legal developments, with Sisodia's bail and the Supreme Court's rulings attracting considerable public and media attention

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, BJP Member of Parliament Janardan Singh Sigriwal has weighed in on the legal and constitutional implications of the verdict. Sigriwal, who represents Bihar, emphasized that while Sisodia’s release on bail marks a significant legal development, it does not equate to an acquittal of the charges he faces.

Sigriwal addressed the media, clarifying that bail is a procedural step within the legal process and should not be confused with a final judgment on Sisodia’s guilt or innocence. “He has got the bail only. But he has not been acquitted from the case. He will be sent to jail again if found guilty. Bail is just a legal process. He got bail as the trial of the case was slow,” Sigriwal stated. This comment underscores the ongoing nature of Sisodia’s legal troubles, despite his temporary release from custody.

In addition to discussing Sisodia’s bail, Sigriwal also commented on the Supreme Court’s recent ruling concerning the subcategorization of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to the Constitution, stating, “The country functions according to the Constitution. The provisions of the Constitution are supreme. We believe in the Constitution, and our government also believes in it.” This statement highlights the BJP’s adherence to constitutional principles and its role in upholding the legal framework of the country.
