In a significant move ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its third list of candidates on Monday, featuring 25 names. This list includes candidates contesting from three key constituencies in Mumbai, highlighting the party’s strategy to strengthen its presence in urban areas. Notable Mumbai candidates include Parag Shah from Ghatkopar East, Bharati Lavekar from Versona, and Sanjay Upadhyay from Borivali.

In a strategic matchup, the BJP has fielded Avinash Brahmankar to contest against Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole, a move that underlines the BJP’s intent to challenge established political figures head-on.

The BJP was the first major party to release candidate lists for the upcoming elections. The initial list included 99 candidates, followed by a second list of 22 candidates released on Saturday.

Moreover, the BJP also unveiled a roster of 40 star campaigners to rally support for the elections. This list features high-profile leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and several union ministers such as Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari. Notably, BJP-led chief ministers from various states, including Yogi Adityanath from Uttar Pradesh and Pramod Sawant from Goa, will also join the campaign efforts.

PM Modi is expected to hold 12 election rallies across Maharashtra, targeting key cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Latur, Akola, and Nanded. Notable BJP leaders who have filed their nominations so far include Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis from Nagpur South and Mumbai BJP Chief Ashish Shelar from Bandra West.

As political parties from the Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi continue to announce their candidates, some constituencies remain undisclosed, creating anticipation among voters.
