France witnessed intense demonstrations on Wednesday as protesters from the “Block Everything” movement took to the streets, expressing their outrage over the ouster of Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and proposed budget cuts. Roads were blocked, fires were set, and police responded with tear gas to disperse the crowds in Paris and across several other cities.
According to the Interior Ministry, nearly 200 protesters were arrested within the initial hours of the nationwide protest. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau reported that a bus was set ablaze in Rennes, while damage to a power line in the southwest caused disruptions in train services, highlighting the widespread impact of the unrest.
