Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday dismissed reports claiming a reduction in funds for the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, asserting that every beneficiary will receive their entitled amount.
“We have not decreased the money for ‘Ladki Bahin.’ Everyone will get their money. We have allocated funds based on the demand trends. If additional finances are required, we will make provisions. Our promise of ₹2,100 per month to our sisters will be fulfilled,” Fadnavis assured.
In a series of major announcements, the CM revealed the government’s plan to provide 300 units of free electricity per month to households and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agriculture to boost farmers’ productivity.
Highlighting Maharashtra’s financial strength, Fadnavis stated that the state remains a leader in GST collection and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
- Maharashtra’s fiscal deficit is contained at 2.9% and is projected to reduce to 2.7% next year.
- The state is collecting 7% more GST than the national average, positioning it as the top GST collector.
- Maharashtra’s loan eligibility limit has increased, ensuring financial stability.
On housing, Fadnavis informed that 20 lakh houses have been sanctioned under the central government’s scheme, with funds already distributed for 16 lakh homes.
