Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday announced a massive push for infrastructure development, revealing plans to construct over 200 flyovers and underpasses across the state in the coming years. The announcement came during the inauguration of seven flyovers built by the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (MAHARAIL) on January 5.
Fadnavis lauded MAHARAIL for its swift execution of projects, calling the organization a benchmark for rapid construction. He emphasized Maharashtra’s leading position in infrastructure development, highlighting the state’s extensive network of ongoing projects, including metro systems, roads, highways, airports, and ports.
The newly inaugurated flyovers are located in Nagpur, Amravati, Wardha, Chandrapur, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Washim. Among them, a notable addition is the flyover at Railway Gate No. 293 near Godhani Railway Station in Nagpur.
In a social media post, the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office shared, “Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated 7 flyovers constructed by Maharail at various places in the state today. These include significant projects aimed at reducing congestion and improving connectivity.”
Fadnavis reiterated that Maharashtra is home to the highest number of infrastructure projects under construction in the country. He assured citizens that the upcoming 200 flyovers and underpasses would be executed with the same efficiency, marking a new era in the state’s infrastructure growth.
