Congress leader Pawan Khera launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led central government, dismissing the allegations that $21 million in US aid was used to destabilize PM Narendra Modi. Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Khera accused the BJP of spreading a false narrative and questioned the role of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in handling such claims.

“For the past week, a false narrative has been spread that US aid of $21 million was taken to destabilize PM Modi. If such an amount entered India, it is a slap in the face of their (BJP’s) intelligence agencies. Where were Ajit Doval, IB, and RAW?” Khera questioned.

He also mocked the BJP’s changing stance, pointing out that the ruling party later claimed the funds came in 2012 during the UPA era. “Did they win the 2014 elections with that money? Every time we question them, they shift the goalpost,” he remarked.

Congress Questions Modi Govt’s Stance on Foreign Influence

Khera further challenged BJP to prove their claims, referring to an investigative report that allegedly revealed foreign funds being funneled into Bangladesh. He questioned PM Modi’s inaction, comparing it to Indira Gandhi’s decisive stance in 1971, when she resisted US interference during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

“We remember how Indira Gandhi never allowed American interference in 1971. Today, Modi remains silent on such matters. How can the PM allow this?” Khera asked.
