Speaking at the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rally’ in Ranchi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led central government, citing alleged intelligence failure ahead of a recent attack and questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response to the reported threat.

“There is intelligence failure, the government has accepted it and they will resolve it. If they knew this, why didn’t they do anything?” Kharge asked while addressing the crowd.

He went on to claim that an intelligence report had been sent to Prime Minister Modi three days before the attack, prompting him to cancel his scheduled visit to Kashmir. “I got information that 3 days before the attack, an intelligence report was sent to PM Modi and therefore he cancelled his programme to visit Kashmir. I also read this in a newspaper,” Kharge said.

The Congress chief’s remarks come amid heightened political tension following the recent terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, with opposition parties questioning the government's preparedness and accountability.
