With the Delhi Assembly elections set for 2025, tensions between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the opposition have escalated. On Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched a sharp attack on Congress, accusing the party of working in collusion with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to undermine AAP?s position in the upcoming elections.

At a press conference, Atishi accused Congress of not only aligning with the BJP but also of taking specific actions to target AAP leaders. She criticized Congress leader Ajay Maken for his recent remarks, where he called Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal "anti-national." Atishi pointed out that while Congress leaders have filed cases against her and Kejriwal, they have never raised similar concerns against BJP leaders.

"Congress leaders have filed sedition cases against me and Kejriwal but have never taken any action against BJP leaders. It?s clear that they are working hand-in-hand with the BJP," Atishi said. She referred to the actions of Congress as evidence of their tacit alliance with the BJP ahead of the Delhi elections.

In a bombshell allegation, Atishi claimed that BJP was directly funding Congress candidates, including former Congress MP Sandeep Dixit, in a bid to weaken AAP's chances in the forthcoming elections. "We have learned from official sources that BJP is financing Congress candidates, including Sandeep Dixit," Atishi stated, further intensifying the war of words between the two parties.

This accusation comes at a time when Delhi?s political landscape is rapidly shifting, with the AAP facing increasing pressure from both Congress and BJP. As the elections approach, the allegations of financial backing and political collusion between the Congress and BJP have raised questions about the true nature of the opposition alliances in Delhi.
