The highly anticipated exit polls for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 have predicted a tight race between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). According to the Matrize exit poll, BJP is projected to secure between 35 and 40 seats, with a vote share of 46%. AAP is expected to win between 32 and 37 seats, capturing around 44% of the vote. Congress, struggling to regain ground, is forecasted to win 0-1 seat, with a mere 8% vote share.

The People's Insight exit poll also gives BJP an edge, projecting it to secure 40-44 seats, while AAP is predicted to win 25-29 seats. Congress is anticipated to win 0-2 seats. These predictions come after voting took place on Wednesday across all 70 assembly constituencies in a single phase, with 699 candidates competing for a spot in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The election saw the sealing of ballots in EVMs across 13,766 polling stations.

The Delhi Assembly election is a high-stakes contest, with AAP aiming for a third consecutive full term. BJP, which has been out of power for over 25 years in Delhi, seeks to return to power. Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years before being ousted by AAP in 2014, is hoping to make a comeback.

Key candidates include former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi, current Chief Minister Atishi from Kalkaji, and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia from Jangpura. Other significant contenders are AAP’s Awadh Ojha from Patparganj, Congress’s Alka Lamba contesting against Atishi in Kalkaji, and BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, who is also vying for the Kalkaji seat. Congress's Sandeep Dikshit is contesting from New Delhi.

In the last election, AAP secured a landslide victory, winning 62 out of 70 seats. BJP managed to win only 8 seats, while Congress failed to open its account.
