The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has officially launched the registration process for two flagship welfare initiatives: the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana (Chief Minister’s Women’s Honor Scheme) and the Sanjeevani Yojana. These schemes, aimed at empowering women and supporting senior citizens, were unveiled by Kejriwal during a press conference on Sunday.
Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, all eligible women in Delhi will receive a monthly benefit of ₹2,100. The Sanjeevani Yojana, on the other hand, promises free medical treatment for senior citizens aged 60 and above.
Kejriwal explained the registration process, highlighting that party workers will visit households to assist with enrollment. He urged women and elderly citizens to keep their voter identification cards ready, emphasizing that being a registered voter in Delhi is a mandatory criterion for availing the benefits. Additionally, Kejriwal assured assistance for those whose names have been removed from voter rolls, pledging to help them secure new voter IDs.
Widespread Impact Expected
According to Kejriwal, the Mahila Samman Yojana is expected to benefit between 35-40 lakh women, while the Sanjeevani Yojana aims to reach 10-15 lakh senior citizens. “We are committed to making these schemes accessible to everyone who qualifies. I, along with Chief Minister Atishi and Manish Sisodia, will personally ensure a smooth registration process,” he stated.
Door-to-Door Outreach
AAP has prioritized a grassroots approach, focusing on extensive door-to-door campaigning to ensure maximum participation. Party candidates and volunteers are working across neighborhoods in all constituencies, using the opportunity to establish a deeper connection with voters ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
This micro-management strategy marks a significant shift in AAP’s election campaign, as the party seeks to secure support by addressing specific local needs. The initiative highlights AAP’s focus on strengthening its electoral footprint while delivering welfare measures to Delhi’s residents.
For women and senior citizens in Delhi, these schemes represent both financial relief and improved access to essential healthcare, reaffirming AAP’s commitment to public welfare.
