The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao for questioning in connection with a money laundering investigation linked to alleged payment discrepancies during the Formula-E race held in Hyderabad in February 2023. According to reports from PTI, the ED has asked KTR to appear on January 7 for the recording of his statement.

The ED launched the probe after taking note of a complaint filed by the Telangana Police Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The agency filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) last week under various sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

In addition to KTR, the ED has also named senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar and retired engineering official BLN Reddy of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) in the case. Kumar and Reddy have been summoned for questioning on January 2 and 3, respectively.
