In a charged rally in Maharashtra’s Dhule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp critique of the Congress and its allies in the INDIA bloc. Modi portrayed the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance as the trusted force for Maharashtra’s progress, accusing the opposition of stalling growth through infighting and divisive tactics.

“Ek hain toh safe hain (Together we are safe),” Modi proclaimed, warning voters against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, which he described as a “vehicle with no wheels or brakes.” He claimed that its leaders are locked in a power struggle, vying for control rather than focusing on the state’s progress.

Emphasis on Development

Asserting that only the BJP-led alliance can ensure steady development, Modi noted the significant strides Maharashtra has made under BJP rule. “I assure you that the pace of Maharashtra’s development gained in the last two-and-a-half years will not be allowed to stop,” he vowed. The Prime Minister spoke of his close connection with Maharashtra, stating, “You all know my affinity with Maharashtra.” He credited the people for blessing him whenever he reached out and reiterated his promise to foster rapid progress across the state.

Critique of Congress and Allegations of Caste Politics

Modi leveled serious accusations against Congress, accusing it of using caste as a tool for division. “A dangerous game of pitting one caste against another is being played by Congress as that party can never see Dalits, backward classes, and tribals progressing,” he said. Modi alleged that Congress has never had Maharashtra’s best interests at heart, highlighting how the party failed to push for Marathi to gain the status of a classical language during its tenure at both the Centre and state levels.

Protecting Women’s Rights

The Prime Minister also condemned what he described as the opposition’s attempts to sabotage the “Majhi Ladki Bahan Yojana,” a scheme aimed at women’s empowerment. “The Congress ecosystem members have reached the courts against this scheme. They want to discontinue it as soon as they come to power,” Modi said, urging Maharashtra’s women to be vigilant against the MVA’s alleged disregard for their empowerment. He also condemned the opposition’s “abusive language against women,” a tactic he claimed has been noted by the public.

As Maharashtra approaches the November 20 assembly elections, Modi’s speech underscores BJP’s positioning as a stable alternative focused on progress and social unity. His message for voters is clear: to trust in the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance for a prosperous Maharashtra.
