Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar passed away on Wednesday morning in a tragic plane crash near Baramati, leaving the state and his party in shock. The incident claimed the lives of all five people on board, including Pawar and the aircraft crew, as confirmed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Reacting to the loss, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his grief, highlighting Pawar’s integrity and contributions to governance. Shinde said:
"It is an unfortunate day for Maharashtra. This is a painful incident for us and the whole of Maharashtra. Ajit Dada was a man of his word. We worked as a team when I was the CM, and he was Deputy CM. As a team, we had started the Ladli Behen Yojana, and Ajit Dada played an important role in it."
