Sanjay Lalwani has achieved the largest victory margin in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election, securing a lead of 11,75,092 votes over his closest rival, Sanjay Solanki of the Bahujan Samaj Party, who received 51,659 votes in Madhya Pradesh?s Indore constituency.
However, the NOTA option garnered 2,18,674 votes in Indore, making it the runner-up. This adjusts Lalwani's effective victory margin to 10,08,077 votes. Consequently, the title for the largest win goes to Congress? Rakibul Hussain, who triumphed in Assam?s Dhubri constituency with a margin of 10,12,476 votes.
Hussain, aged 59, was one of 13 candidates in Dhubri. His nearest competitor was Mohammed Badruddin Ajmal, a perfume magnate and former Lok Sabha MP, who secured 4,59,409 votes. Before this, Hussain had represented the Samaguri assembly segment in the Assam Legislative Assembly since 2021 and held various ministerial roles from 2002 to 2011.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan won his sixth parliamentary election from Vidisha with 1,116,460 votes, defeating Pratap Bhanu Sharma by 8,21,408 votes. The Vidisha constituency has been Chouhan?s stronghold, with victories in 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2004.
In Gujarat, CR Patil, the BJP state unit president and Navsari MP, won with a margin of 7.73 lakh votes, while his nearest rival, Congress? Naishadhbhai Bhupatbhai Desai, received 2,57,514 votes.
BJP leader and former Union Home Minister Amit Shah secured his second consecutive term in the Gandhinagar constituency with a margin of 7,44,716 votes. He received 10,10,972 votes, while his closest competitor, Congress? Sonal Patel, got 2,66,256 votes.
Trinamool Congress MP and national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee won the Diamond Harbour constituency in West Bengal with a margin of 7,10,930 votes, receiving 10,48,230 votes. His BJP rival, Abhijit Das, secured 3,37,300 votes.
Former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP leader Biplab Kumar Deb won the Tripura West constituency with 8,81,341 votes, defeating Congress? Asish Kumar Saha by a margin of 6,11,578 votes.
In Gujarat's Vadodara constituency, BJP?s Hemang Joshi claimed victory with 8,73,189 votes, defeating Padhiyar Jashpalsinh Mahendrasinh by a margin of 5,82,126 votes.
Brijmohan Agrawal, a BJP candidate and education minister of Chhattisgarh, won the Raipur constituency by a margin of 5,75,285 votes against Congress? Vikas Upadhyay, who polled 4,75,066 votes.
In Tamil Nadu, former IAS officer and Congress candidate Sasikanth Senthil emerged with the highest victory margin in the state. Contesting from the Tiruvallur constituency, he received 7,96,956 votes, defeating BJP?s V Pon Balaganapathy by 5,72,155 votes.
