Hours after presenting the Union Budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed a press conference on Saturday, emphasizing the budget’s focus on agriculture, rural prosperity, urban development, and economic reforms.
“The budget outlines our path towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ by investing in agriculture, rural prosperity, and urban workers’ welfare while continuing to push for reforms,” she stated.
She further announced that the Income Tax Simplification Bill, which was detailed in the July budget, has been finalized and will be introduced in Parliament next week. “This government is responsive to the voice of the people, a hallmark of PM Modi’s leadership,” Sitharaman added.
Clarifying concerns about capital expenditure, she assured that there is no reduction in public spending, stressing that the multiplier effect of government capital expenditure remains a key driver of economic growth.
Sitharaman also highlighted tariff rationalization, stating that the customs framework is being simplified to boost trade and industry.
With the 2025 budget being positioned as a growth-oriented and reform-driven financial roadmap, the government continues to push forward with its vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
