Former Bihar Minister Mukesh Sahani’s Father Found Murdered; Opposition Targets Nitish Kumar, Calls It ‘Jungle Raj’

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing Bihar and underscores the urgent need for robust measures to safeguard its citizens against such senseless violence.

In a shocking turn of events, Jitan Sahani, father of former Bihar Minister Mukesh Sahani and a prominent figure in the state’s political landscape, was brutally murdered at his ancestral home in Darbhanga district. The incident, discovered early morning in the Biraul area, has sent waves of grief and outrage across Bihar.

The body of Jitan Sahani was found inside his residence with multiple stab wounds and cuts to his chest and stomach. The gruesome discovery has sparked a flurry of reactions from political leaders, highlighting deep concerns over the state’s law and order situation.

The opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) did not mince words, immediately accusing the Nitish Kumar-led government of failing to maintain law and order in Bihar. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav criticized the administration, dubbing the situation as ‘maha-jungle raaj’ (lawlessness), where even political leaders are not safe. He lamented, “No day goes by without a murder… The Chief Minister seems unaware and the system has collapsed. Bihar is now at the mercy of gods.”

Mrityunjay Tiwari, another RJD leader, echoed these sentiments, describing the incident as “extremely unfortunate” and stressing that if leaders’ families are not safe, it reflects poorly on governance. The term ‘maha-jungleraaj’ resonated across political circles as a stark indictment of the current state of affairs.

Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, joined in the chorus of criticism, asserting that Bihar has fallen under the grip of criminals. He questioned the efficacy of Nitish Kumar’s governance, citing a recent spate of murders as evidence of deteriorating law and order.

In response, leaders from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) expressed condolences and promised swift action. BJP MP Giriraj Singh assured that the perpetrators would not escape justice, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensure safety and security for all citizens.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and LJP(RV) leader Chirag Paswan also condemned the incident vehemently, pledging support to Mukesh Sahani and his family during this tragic time. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and a transparent investigation into the murder.

Union Minister Ramnath Thakur assured that the state government would leave no stone unturned in apprehending the guilty parties and ensuring they face the full extent of the law. He reiterated the administration’s resolve to uphold peace and order in Bihar.

As investigations unfold into this heinous crime, the spotlight remains firmly on Bihar’s governance and security apparatus. The tragic loss of Jitan Sahani has not only exposed vulnerabilities in political safety but also reignited debates on the state’s overall law enforcement efficacy. With public outcry mounting, all eyes are on the authorities to deliver justice swiftly and restore faith in Bihar’s governance.
