Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra on Friday accused the central government of unprecedentedly misusing investigative agencies to target opposition parties.
Speaking about the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) action, Moitra said, “In the history of Indian democracy, it has never happened that a government uses its agencies to loot another party. Taking the opposition’s information, seizing their assets, and looting documents—this is unprecedented.”
She specifically highlighted the ED raid on the Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC) office, adding, “Yesterday, the ED was sent to the IPAC office; they were not going to get any six-year-old coal information…” Moitra suggested that the move was politically motivated, aimed at intimidating opposition ahead of elections.
