Heavy Rains Lead to School Closures In Palghar, Raigad And Thane: Maharashtra Education Minister Addresses Missed Exams And Late Admissions

In response to the heavy rainfall impacting several districts, Maharashtra Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar has announced that schools in Palghar, Raigad, and Thane will be closed due to adverse weather conditions. The decision comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff amidst severe weather disruptions.

Minister Kesarkar indicated that the decision to close schools in these districts was made to address the immediate challenges posed by the torrential rains. “Holidays have been declared in Palghar, Raigad, and Thane due to heavy rains,” Kesarkar said. The situation is being closely monitored, and the Mumbai Commissioner will assess the weather forecast to determine if a holiday should be declared for the city tomorrow.

For students who missed their Maharashtra Board exams today due to the weather-related closures, the Education Minister assured that there will be no adverse impact on their academic progress. “Students who missed the Maharashtra Board exam today need not worry as another date for the exam will be announced soon,” Kesarkar explained. The state is taking steps to ensure that all students are accommodated despite the unforeseen disruptions.
