The family of slain Congress worker Himani Narwal has demanded the death penalty for the accused, after one person was arrested in connection with her murder. The shocking case has sparked outrage, with her family alleging that her political associations may have played a role in her killing.

Speaking to ANI, Narwal’s mother, Savita, expressed her deep suspicion that someone close to the family or party was involved.

“I am sure the accused is a known person, either someone from the party, her college, or our relatives. Only they could come home. I am sure someone tried to do something to her, and she protested, which is why this happened,” she said.

She further demanded capital punishment for the accused, while also revealing that no government official had reached out to the grieving family.

Narwal’s body was discovered on March 1, stuffed inside a suitcase near Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi highway. Police suspect she was murdered before being dumped by the roadside. Sampla police station SHO Bijendra Singh confirmed that investigations were ongoing.

Political Angle in Murder? Family Raises Suspicions
On Sunday, Himani’s mother made explosive allegations, claiming that elections and party politics led to her daughter’s murder.

“The election and the party took my daughter’s life. Because of this, she made enemies. The culprits could be from the party or her friends… She was close to Rahul Gandhi and the Hooda family. People were jealous and had problems with this,” she said.

Himani’s brother, Jatin, while confirming that the funeral would take place on Monday, lamented the lack of information from the police about the arrested suspect.

“One accused has been arrested, but we still don’t know who it is. The police have not shared any details with us. We want the death penalty for the accused,” he told ANI.
