Odisha witnessed a historic moment today as Mohan Majhi took the oath of office, becoming the state’s first chief minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This significant event marks a new chapter in Odisha’s political landscape.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar earlier in the day to attend the ceremony. Modi’s visit underscores the importance of this occasion for the BJP and the state. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister proceeded directly from the airport to Raj Bhavan.
The ceremony drew a crowd of about 30,000 people, reflecting the public’s keen interest in this historic event. Given the large turnout and the significance of the occasion, extensive security measures were put in place to ensure the event proceeded smoothly and safely. Security arrangements included 67 platoons of police, anti-terrorism squads, and other security units.
