The Noida International Airport is a mega public-private partnership project by the Uttar Pradesh government and is set to become India’s largest airport upon completion. Spread over 5,000 hectares and developed in four phases

The much-anticipated Noida International Airport, originally scheduled to be operational by the end of this year, has faced delays and is now set to commence commercial operations by the end of April 2025. This greenfield airport is being developed in the Jewar area of Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district, approximately 75 kilometers from Delhi.

Reports of construction delays at the Noida International Airport have been circulating recently. Addressing these concerns, the airport released a statement: “In view of the current construction status, we expect to begin commercial operations by end of April 2025. We are working together with our EPC contractor Tata Projects Limited and with other stakeholders to keep the pace of construction activities and preparations for operational readiness high.”

Emphasizing their commitment, the airport’s statement continued, “We are committed to our goal of delivering a sustainable and world-class airport for Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh.” The airport noted that construction work is in advanced stages and highlighted that they continue to achieve significant milestones on the path to operational readiness.

Describing the project as “large and complex,” the airport stressed the importance of the coming weeks for crucial construction activities. “Work on the runway, the passenger terminal, and the control tower is well advanced. Recently, the concessions for ground handling, the operation of commercial areas, and important maintenance contracts were awarded,” the statement added.

Furthermore, the airport has signed agreements with several airlines for flight connections from Noida International Airport, indicating progress towards operational readiness.

The Noida International Airport is a mega public-private partnership project by the Uttar Pradesh government and is set to become India’s largest airport upon completion. Spread over 5,000 hectares and developed in four phases, the first phase will feature one runway and a terminal building capable of handling 12 million passengers annually, according to project officials.
