As political temperatures rise in the national capital amid the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday took a jibe at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over its recently held meeting, suggesting it was prompted by the INDIA alliance's plans.
Speaking to reporters, Raut remarked, “Our (INDIA Alliance) meeting was scheduled, and after that, they (NDA) felt the need to meet people too. It’s a good thing that the NDA is holding a meeting because of us.”
The INDIA Alliance, a coalition of key opposition parties, is set to meet on August 7 at the residence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. The meeting is expected to be a significant show of unity amid the stalemate in Parliament and growing political friction with the ruling coalition.
“All senior leaders will be present,” Raut confirmed, adding that Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray will also arrive in Delhi on Tuesday to participate in the deliberations. “We will be attending as well,” he said, reaffirming the party’s alignment with the broader opposition front.
