'India Created Bangladesh, Yet They Support Pakistani Extremists': Suvendu Adhikari Slams Dhaka Over Anti-India Posts

West Bengal Leader of Opposition and BJP heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari has stirred controversy with his sharp criticism of Bangladesh's response following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. Addressing the media, Adhikari said, “While Operation Sindoor was going on, maximum anti-India social media posts were from Bangladesh.”

He expressed dismay that, despite India’s crucial role in Bangladesh’s liberation, the neighbouring country has seen a disturbing rise in pro-Pakistan sentiment. “India created Bangladesh... thousands of our BSF and Army jawans laid down their lives for Bangladesh formation,” Adhikari reminded, referring to the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

“But people hit the streets in Bangladesh in support of Pakistani extremists after the Pahalgam attack,” he alleged, calling it a betrayal of India’s historic sacrifice and goodwill.

Adhikari revealed that he had formally raised the matter with Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. “I had given a complaint to I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw... Indian govt should do whatever it has to stop the anti-India acts in Bangladesh,” he asserted.
