In a significant anti-infiltration operation, the Indian Army successfully eliminated two terrorists in the Lam area of the Nowshera region, Jammu and Kashmir, during the night of September 8-9. The operation, codenamed ‘Operation Kanchi,’ was conducted by the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, following intelligence inputs from various agencies and cooperation from the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
This successful operation comes on the heels of a recent army success in thwarting another infiltration attempt in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors, where three terrorists were killed. Both operations involved close coordination between the Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and local police, showcasing the ongoing joint efforts to maintain security and peace in the region.
The area of Jammu and Kashmir, historically volatile, has seen a rise in anti-terrorist operations post the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. With the upcoming legislative assembly elections in the Union Territory, the security situation remains a top priority for authorities.
