Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the upcoming elections, asserting that Congress candidate Iftkar Ahmed will secure a win from the Rajouri Assembly constituency. Pilot highlighted the party’s decision to field a young candidate, noting, “The party has given a chance to a youth, and the atmosphere is in his favour.” He emphasized growing support for the Congress and National Conference (NC) alliance, predicting that they will form the government with a significant majority.
Pilot also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has been in power at the center for the past decade. “For the last 10 years, BJP has been in power at the center, they will have to answer what they have given to Jammu and Kashmir. In 10 years, they have deprived people of their rights,” he said, holding the BJP accountable for what he perceives as neglect toward the region’s issues.
Referring to the current election scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, Pilot pointed out that the elections are taking place following a Supreme Court order. He accused the central government of initially resisting the electoral process, stating, “The central government did not want elections to be conducted here.” Nevertheless, he expressed confidence in the upcoming electoral outcome, stating that the elections will proceed and the results will favor Congress and its allies.
The upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir are crucial, as they mark a significant political shift in the region. With major parties like Congress and NC gearing up for the electoral battle, the stage is set for an intense contest in Rajouri and across the Union Territory.
