India launched a scathing attack on Pakistan at the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), dismissing its claims and branding it a “failed state surviving on international handouts.”
Kshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, criticized Pakistan for misusing global platforms to spread misinformation, stating that its rhetoric is dictated by the “military-terrorist complex.”
Jammu & Kashmir an Integral Part of India
Reaffirming India’s position, Tyagi declared, “The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India.” He highlighted the region’s “unprecedented political, social, and economic progress” in recent years, despite Pakistan’s attempts to destabilize it through cross-border terrorism.

India Calls Out Pakistan’s ‘Unhealthy Obsession’
Blasting Pakistan for its continued attempts to internationalize the Kashmir issue, Tyagi said, “It is unfortunate that this Council’s time continues to be wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and survives on international aid.”
He further accused Pakistan of “making a mockery of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) by abusing it as its mouthpiece” and urged its leaders to focus on their own internal issues instead of interfering in India’s affairs.
Stronger Stand at UNSC
Tyagi’s remarks echoed the statement made by India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on February 19.
Harish reaffirmed, “Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always be, an integral and inalienable part of India.” He also condemned Pakistan’s continued attempts to mislead the international community.
