Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, daring him to drink the water supplied in Delhi and accusing him of making false promises like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a rally in Hauz Qazi Chowk, in support of Congress’ Ballimaran candidate Haroon Yusuf, Gandhi claimed that Kejriwal had failed to deliver on his pledge to clean the Yamuna and provide clean water to Delhiites.

Holding up a bottle of Delhi’s water supply, Gandhi challenged Kejriwal, saying, “If you truly cleaned the Yamuna, drink this water. We will see you in the hospital after that.” He also took a whiff of the water and remarked that it had a foul smell, symbolizing the alleged failure of AAP’s governance.

Gandhi accused Kejriwal of misleading the public with promises of eradicating corruption, ensuring clean water, and fostering brotherhood but failing to fulfill them. He further alleged that Kejriwal’s core team lacked representation from Dalits, OBCs, or minorities, saying, “Kejriwal claims to stand for the poor, but his team is devoid of people from these communities.”

In a scathing comparison, Gandhi equated Kejriwal’s leadership style with that of Narendra Modi, stating that while Modi speaks openly, Kejriwal remains silent and disappears during crises. He asserted that the election was a battle between two ideologies—one of unity, represented by Congress, and the other of division and hatred, represented by BJP and RSS.

“The day Narendra Modi steps down, no one will remember him. History remembers Gandhi, not Godse,” he added.
