As Delhi gears up for the crucial 2025 Assembly elections, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of sabotaging the welfare schemes introduced by his government. In a recent statement, Kejriwal highlighted two key initiatives?Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana?which have reportedly gained significant traction among the public, particularly women and senior citizens in the capital.

Kejriwal, who made the announcement of providing Rs 2,100 to women and free healthcare to the elderly above 60 years of age during the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, expressed confidence in the widespread support these schemes have garnered. "These schemes have been so beneficial for the public that lakhs of people have already registered for them," he said. "This has made the BJP nervous. Many BJP leaders told me that they wouldn't just lose the election, but their deposit would be forfeited in several places."

The AAP leader alleged that the BJP, in response to this growing popularity of the welfare initiatives, has resorted to disruptive tactics. "First, they sent their goons, then they sent the police to uproot our registration camps. And now, they have ordered a fake investigation. What will they investigate?" Kejriwal remarked. He defended his government's election promises, saying that these were part of his party's agenda to benefit the people of Delhi, especially women and senior citizens.

Kejriwal further accused the BJP of not wanting to implement the key welfare programs if they were to come into power. "Today, the BJP has made it clear why they are contesting the election," he said. "They want to stop the Mahila Samman Yojana, they want to stop the Sanjeevani Yojana. They will halt free travel for women in buses, stop your free electricity, free water, mohalla clinics, free treatment, and free education. BJP is contesting the election to stop everything that benefits the common people."

This exchange comes at a time when the AAP is looking to consolidate its position in the run-up to the 2025 Delhi elections, with the party positioning itself as a champion of welfare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women, elderly citizens, and the common man. Kejriwal?s remarks underline the stakes for both parties as they face off in the upcoming election, with welfare schemes taking center stage in the battle for voter support.
