Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah, expressing grave concern over the worsening law and order situation in the national capital. Kejriwal called for an urgent meeting to discuss the growing safety issues in Delhi, which he has termed as the “crime capital” of India.
In his letter, Kejriwal highlighted the alarming rise in crime, citing Delhi’s top position in crimes against women, murders, and the resurgence of extortion gangs. The Chief Minister accused the BJP-led Centre of failing to address the issue, emphasizing that if the AAP government had control over the Delhi Police, the situation would have been different.
Kejriwal vowed to take further action, announcing plans for an agitation with the public to demand better safety measures and accountability from the Centre. The BJP, however, has dismissed Kejriwal’s claims, accusing the AAP of protecting criminal elements for political advantage.
With Delhi’s Assembly elections approaching, the political rivalry between the ruling and opposition parties has intensified, with both sides trading accusations over public safety and governance.
