Senior BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has made explosive claims, alleging that 3,056 Bangladeshi nationals have fraudulently obtained birth certificates in Latur district. Addressing reporters on Friday after meeting the district collector, Somaiya stated that the administration has assured a thorough investigation into the matter.
Somaiya further alleged that the issue is not limited to Latur but is part of a larger nexus across Maharashtra. “More than 1.23 lakh Bangladeshis have secured birth certificates in the state using bogus documents. In Latur alone, 3,421 individuals applied for birth certificates with just an Aadhaar card, and 3,056 of them successfully obtained one,” he claimed.
