In the wake of India’s powerful response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Himanshi Narwal — the grieving wife of Navy officer Vinay Narwal who was killed in the April 22 attack — has lauded the government’s decisive military operation, calling it a tribute to her husband’s unwavering spirit and sacrifice.

Speaking to PTI, Himanshi said, "I am thankful to the government. I also request them to end it here. Make sure that this is just the start of the end of terrorism in this country. Make sure no one ever has to go through what I am enduring right now."

Her husband, Vinay Narwal, was among the 26 people — mostly Hindu men — killed in the brutal terrorist ambush in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region. The tragic image of Himanshi sitting silently beside her husband’s body had become a heart-wrenching emblem of the human cost of terrorism.

To avenge the killings, the Indian armed forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, a large-scale air and ground assault conducted in the early hours of Wednesday. The operation targeted nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), believed to be linked to militant outfits including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Himanshi expressed gratitude that the mission was named ‘Operation Sindoor’, saying it not only honored the sacrifices of the fallen but also reinforced India’s resolve against terrorism. “He [Vinay] wanted to make sure that innocent lives are not lost. He wanted to make sure there was no hatred and terror," she said.
