In a move that is set to affect various businesses, oil marketing companies announced a hike in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders, effective today, October 1st. The price of a 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder has seen an increase of ₹48.50, raising the cost from ₹1,691.50 to ₹1,740 in Delhi.

This significant rise will have immediate repercussions for restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments that depend on these cylinders for their daily operations. In addition to the 19 kg variant, the price of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders has also risen by ₹12.

This price adjustment follows a similar trend observed last month when the cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased by ₹39, indicating a pattern of escalating costs for commercial gas supplies. The last hike had brought the retail price of the 19 kg cylinder to ₹1,691.50, highlighting the ongoing volatility in LPG pricing.

While businesses brace for these increased costs, domestic LPG cylinder prices have remained unchanged, providing a slight respite for households that rely on domestic cooking gas. This divergence in pricing, however, may lead to a ripple effect in the commercial sector, with the potential for increased operating costs to be passed on to consumers in various industries.

The revised prices are now in effect nationwide, influencing the cost structures for many businesses that rely on LPG for their cooking and operational needs. As these costs rise, consumers may soon feel the impact through higher prices for food and services across the board.
