In a recent statement, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar addressed various issues, including criticisms from Shiv Sena leader Tanaji Sawant and comments from BJP spokesperson Ganesh Hake regarding an alliance with the NCP. Pawar’s remarks highlight his focus on governance and his approach to political discourse.
Regarding Sawant’s reported criticisms, Pawar emphasized his decision to refrain from commenting on personal attacks. “If someone has said something, I don’t want to comment on it. I have decided at the beginning of the Jan Samman Yatra that I will not comment on anyone. If someone criticizes me, it does not matter to me. I believe in working,” Pawar stated. His response underscores a commitment to focusing on his duties rather than engaging in political spats.
Addressing comments by BJP spokesperson Ganesh Hake about the NCP’s alliance talks, Pawar clarified the current state of discussions. “We have discussed with HM Amit Shah, PM Modi, and Deputy CM-BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis. If someone says something different, my party workers (NCP) can also speak. We do not give importance to such comments. I do my work,” Pawar said. This remark reflects his stance on not being swayed by external commentary and focusing on practical negotiations.
On the matter of seat-sharing discussions with potential alliance partners, Pawar provided insight into the ongoing process. “We had our first round of discussions on seat sharing. We will sit again for the second time and decide who gets which seat, out of the 288 seats. We will discuss and decide on that. Elective merit will be the criteria for seat sharing,” he explained. This indicates a structured approach to alliance negotiations, with an emphasis on merit and strategic planning.
Pawar’s statements underscore his determination to concentrate on effective governance and strategic decision-making, rather than getting entangled in political controversies. As Maharashtra’s political landscape continues to evolve, his approach could play a significant role in shaping future developments.
